Description:
- Students will learn the fundamentals of databases using PostgreSQL, geospatial database management using the PostGIS extensions to PostgreSQL, and basic data processing techniques using the PL/R extension which allows stored procedures to be written using R, a popular statistical computing language. Graduates will also receive bundled “Bootstrap Support”(tm), to help accelerate them through the initial learning curve when they leave the class.
Prerequisites:
- An understanding of relational database fundamentals, including the ability to write SQL queries.
- Basic familiarity with (or willingness to learn) the Linux command line.
