credativ goes transatlantic
Europe's largest independent open source service and support
company is expanding its Open Source Support Centre to the U.S. to
satisfy the rapidly growing need for expert assistance with open source
technologies for companies operating across both Europe and the US.
Rugby, UK. September 9, 2009
- credativ, Europe's largest independent open source service and
support company, announced today that it has expanded operations to the
U.S., where like its UK, German and Canadian offices it will offer its Open Source Support Centre services to enterprise, SMEs and the public sector.
credativ
has also appointed Simon Bowring as its new UK sales and marketing
manager and two new UK software engineers to bring additional expertise
to the company's UK clients. Mr Bowring has over 22 years experience of
selling technology services to the UK private and public sectors. The
engineers both have a wide knowledge of available Linux distributions
and are able to recommend free software which effectively fulfils
clients' technical requirements. Their appointments strengthen the
credativ UK team, which is currently facing a rising demand for OpenERP
based projects and the company's newly launched Ruby on Rails training
courses.
credativ's Open Source Support Centre will provide the
same services in each of its three key markets - expert/developer level
service and support for all major open source distributions and
applications. The distributions and software supported include: Debian,
Ubuntu Linux and CentOS, PostgreSQL, Asterisk, Nagios, Red Hat and
OpenERP. credativ also supports numerous other distributions and
applications built on open source technologies.
Chris Halls, MD
of credativ UK said of the company's expansion: “The growing reputation
of our Open Source Support Centre in the UK has increased our turnover
by 50% in the last year and we are expanding our team to service our
growing client base. While we will continue to support clients based
only in the UK, we can now service companies with offices across Europe
and North America who want to work with one international open source consultancy and support provider.”
“Since
opening the Open Source Support Centre in the UK, we have been saving
our customers time and resources by focusing on solving their problems
regardless of which open source technology best meets their
requirements,” continued Mr Halls.
Michael Meskes, founder and
CEO of parent credativ GmbH remarked: “The UK open source sector is
maturing in terms of increasing adoption rates and awareness of the
benefits of non proprietary software and I believe we are still the
only company to provide comprehensive open source consultancy and
support from an in house team, which does not need to use external
consultants. Our size allows us to provide our clients with
international 24/7 support and also access to a pool of some of the
most talented open source engineers available today. We are already
enabling customers across the UK and Germany to gain significant
benefit from open source. Now companies with offices in both the U.S
and Europe only need to make one call to handle all their open source
requirements."
